Homemade Ranch Dip + Dressing

Dressings, sauces and dips are hands down the the biggest source of added sugars, preservatives and seed oils in our diet. Most of the time we try to make our own, saving money and preventing gut inflammation with poor-quality ingredients like soybean oil or vegetable oil. Ranch dressing was my go-to condiment in college. I ate it on salads, sandwiches, pasta, bagels, you name it. Since going paleo/primal I have been using a much healthier version of the low-fat, preservative filled stuff I used to eat. Naturally, my full-proof recipe for clean ranch dip/dressing starts with making your own ranch seasoning.

Homemade Ranch Seasoning:
2 T parsley
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp onion flakes
1 1/2 tsp dill
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp chives
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp paprika
Mix all ingredients in a wide, shallow bowl. If you prefer a finer mixture, you can pulse in a food processor until desired consistency. Store in an air-tight jar for up to 3 months.

Clean Ranch Dip + Dressing:
1 cup avocado oil mayo (or make your own)
1 T homemade ranch seasoning
1-2 drops lemon essential oil
Water or homemade chicken stock for thinning
Optional: 1/2 cup grass-fed greek yogurt or sour cream*
