Last Minute Gifts That Spark Joy!

I mentioned in our last post that we take gift giving pretty seriously around here... basically I LOVE seeking out the perfect thing that someone will love, ideally supporting a small business and not getting too caught up in the 'buy everything' feeling that often comes this time of year. Whether you're giving a little something special to your neighbor or looking for the perfect thing for your spouse, here are a few of my favorite things that spark joy (and will arrive before Christmas)!

+ For the cook: An Instant pot and a great cookbook. I love cookbooks and cooking out of pen and paper books! Some favorites: My New Roots (plant-based), It's All Good or It's All Easy by my girl Gwyneth Paltrow, Against All Grain or anything by Danielle Walker,  and Whole 30 Fast & Easy
+ For her: A copy of Hello Glow + a cozy pair of slippers
+ For a friend, neighbor, sister: A pretty journal and a good book. Maybe Present Over Perfect or anything by Shauna Niequist, Chasing Slow by Erin Loechener, or Cultivate by Lara Casey
+ For him: a pair of work gloves with touch screen fingertips
+ For the coffee lover: a coffee subscription + a Chemex or French Press
+ For her: a subscription to the Magnolia Journal + fun coffee mugs for curling up to read with a mug of tea or coffee
+ For the wine connoisseur: A subscription to Winc  + pretty wine glasses (I also love these for a more casual style) to share (or not!)

Share any of your favorites in the comments. I love reading them! Happy gift giving + Merry Christmas!!

Valentine's Favorites

Happy (almost) Valentine's Day! Admittedly we are not huge celebrators over here, but I do love all the pretty things and fun recipes floating around this time of year. We actually have some fun things happening including a Galentines event, family breakfast with heart shaped pancakes, a no-plans Saturday (my fave!) and homemade cookie making. Anyone else love intentionally NOT making plans on a weekend? I feel like we just need the reset sometimes, you know? Pajamas, coffee on the porch, good food, my people. Bliss.

A few other things:
+ Scented valentines because Orange oil is just so happy. (PS, we attached tiny puzzles instead of candy to ours. Other ideas: bubbles, a little toy car, organic applesauce pouch, small pack of crayons, clay, paint brushes, or other art supply. You can make your Valentines cards fit the theme too! "You're my main squeeze" for the pouch, "I like the way you roll" for the car, " etc.
+ Massage oils, perfume rollers, bath salts for my ladies
+ Oily infused cocktails (and mocktails!) for Galentines
+ Paw Patrol shaped pancakes using Elliot's Valentine from his Mimi (similar set here)
+ Paleo strawberry donuts just because (love having treats that don't derail our clean eating)
+ Trying a new cookie recipe on Tuesday so we can surprise daddy after work! If it's a bust, these are our backup plan.
+ Celebrating on Tuesday with some fun balloons and a couple new books. (PS you can preorder my sweet friend Jodi's book now!!!! Go go go!!)
+ Checking out some Pinterest DIYs for making Valentines for our family!

I'm really excited about our Galentines night at my house tonight! Our theme is 'You should go and love yourself' ;) and we are making relaxing massage oils (oh la la!!) and face rollers with amazing skin supportive oils because we all want to look like J. Lo when we're fifty.  If you're local, come on over!! If not, we're loving you from afar. And if you're interested in joining in the fun, I'll gift you $25 back towards your premium kit today only!

Friday Favorites / For MOM

I can hardly believe that Mother's Day is next weekend! Last year was an especially sweet year since it was my first year as a mama, and my husband and family made it such a special time. This year I am looking forward to spending the days surrounded by those I love - my husband and little, my sweet sister and her beautiful family, my grandma, father and of course, my very own mama. It's amazing to me to think how I would not be able to survive motherhood myself if it weren't for my mom. We never fully understand the hard work and sacrifice of parenthood until we experience it ourselves! So take some time to really pamper and thank the moms in your life. Their work is truly never done! Here are some of my favorite ideas:

+ Spa days: massages, manicures and pedicures, facials, the works!
+ A night out! Call up the babysitter and make dinner reservations, go out for brunch and perusing a farmer's market or antique store. It doesn't have to be fancy or expensive, just make it about her and what she likes to do!
+ Personalized trinkets: a spoon with a sweet message for stirring her coffee or tea, a ring for each of her children
+ Essential Oils! Seriously. I know so many moms who want to start taking better care of themselves (always putting themselves last!), and a kit would be such a great step in that direction. Added bonus is that it will benefit the whole family! Also, most moms need a little help de-stressing and unwinding at the end of the day, and there are some perfect oils for that in the starter kit (lavender, Joy, Stress Away)!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mamas out there!

For whatever reason Christmas has completely snuck up on me this year, despite my love of buying gifts for the people in my lift. I am taking full advantage of Amazon Prime and online gift cards for quite a few on my list, and I wanted to share some of my favorite gift ideas.
